My day was goin fine yesterday..nothin seemed very interesting but not so boring as well..was just happy to finish work n was on my way to my favourite coffee shop i.e Coffee Jar in Wanowrie. Well i took a rickshaw from wanowrie to the coffee shop, stopped there for about 2 mins and then directed the driver to go to MG Rd..can u guess how much the fare came up to??? 70 bucks...i was sooo annoyed...i told him and explained too that is is way too much.. that i have travelled a lot more of a distance and the fare has never come so high... he just was not ready to listen..i shud have just givin him 50bucks n walked off..but at that point i felt so cheated i did not even know wat to do..well right now m tryin to find out online where i can put a complaint against these rickshaw drivers who tweek their meters and over charge the customers.. will see to it that they pay a price for it... m still sooo angry about the whole thing...coz u know u slog so hard and earn every penny..and then there are these jerks around who swindle u off all ur money... i guess it will just take me time to cool off..Wednesday, May 21, 2008

girl,Im totally with you.. Seriously the Pune rick drivers think they run a parallel govt. Gosh,forget overcharging, they just wont go any where u wanna go. I so miss Mumbai for their excellent transports.No matter how late into the nite you travel,these decent guys never charge extra returns. Here they charge returns for any time of the day - early morning, afternoons and nights. And Pune pple with their 'chalta hai' attitude dont ever seem to mind it!!
I think it's about time we start doing something about this whole affair.....even if it is on the grass root level...

seriuosly ya..it is a big nuisance here..was tryin a lot online but cud not get any website that wud guide me thru filing a complaint to the RTO.. plusi dont wanna put my name ya..i have come to hate the pune rick shaw guys..

we really have to do sumthin abt it..its because we dont do anythin, these guys take advantage..
listen, the best u can do i think is write a letter or email one thru a local newspaper. Now-a-days, the Pune Mirror carries a lot of news like these. SO you can start off like that, plus remain anonymous. U knw Carol, next time, take down the vehicle number of the Rickshaw. There is a particular Board where u can register the complaint. Lemme find out..

Having stayed in Pune, I am very well aware of good pune rickshaws drivers are good at ripping off!! and public transport being basically zilch doesnt help either!!
