Follow your Heart

I have been watching a series on TV called "Masterchef Australia". I am always blown over by the fact that the people cooking in the series are amateurs. The food that they bring to the table is absolutely breathtaking. The reason that they are so good in what they do is because cooking is what they are passionate about. They have left their high paying jobs to pursue the very thing they love doing. Watching these people has inspired me to  follow my heart and to pursue the things i love doing.

I am always discouraged to see people around me take up jobs, or pursue subjects( in their academics) that they are not interested in. The only driving factor for them is money. Money cant buy you satisfaction, and that is something i have experienced in my  personal life. I got a job at a really fancy company. I was super excited to start working. I think my friends were more excited than me ;) A few days in my new job and I knew that I would not last here very long. The work I was doing was not something i looked forward to. I dreaded going to work every day. And trust me the pay was really good, which made my decision to quit quite difficult as well. But I did resign. When I look back that was the best decision I ever made. I did get another job in a smaller company and not as fancy as my previous one but I am happy here.

It takes much courage to follow your dreams.Very few tread on these roads. But the reward is worth it :)

Relaxed!!!!!

Last week was probably one of best week I have had for ages!!! I made a trip down to Goa with my sister to meet some good friends. They are more like family to me:) The vacation was so perfectly timed that I came back thoroughly refreshed and rejuvenated.

Goa is beautiful in the rains...I know u can't go much to the beach or shop around. But after having a crazy hectic schedule here in Pune, the last thing I wanted to do in Goa was run around sight seeing. Was staying in Porvorim in a really neat bungalow. It was constructed many years back, so it kinda had an old feel to it. Loved sitting near the window and reading and watchin it rain outside. This trip definitely did good to my health.

The highlight of my vacation were the kids. The family that i was stayin with had 4 kids, ranging from a 6yr old to a one yr old. So u can imagine the energy levels in that house:) I got so  involved in their schedules (be it swimming, or taekwondo, or even their sleep timings) that i forgot that I will be goin back soon:( The one yr old was the cutest...She loves to eat  and eat and eat .And well after all that eating guess wat babies loooove to do??? Poop.. I was tired changing her diapers...But it was a joy in itself. I think I was just so happy doin somethin totally different from my normal routine, I accepted all that came my way :)

I know it goes without sayin but the sea food in Goa is amazing. Being an avid fish lover, i was in paradise :) Love the prawns and sausages( you get wonderful pork sausages). Ate loads of chocolate and ice cream and I came back gaining some weight, which I don't mind coz that's what vacations are for!!!

Somethin that I have resolved to do after this trip, is to try and take a vacation regularly. Hopin that I can do it, coz I know it does good to my body and mind:)

American Idol 2010

I am a big fan of American Idol, and enjoy watching the show. On Saturday was the 2 hour Finale and I relished every bit of it (Ah maybe there were 2 song sequence I did not). On the whole it was a good end to the 9th Season. Lee Dewyze won the title. That was another reason I was elated as he has always been my favorite singer ( love the raspy voice and the cute shy personality:)

It was good to see him grow on the show. It was a long journey for him, to be at the place that he is today. From a paint salesman to a rockstar icon-he definitely has one story to tell. One quality that I appreciated was that he took the critique from the judges well. He being a shy guy, just singing on stage would not do, you gotta perform.

Something that comes back to me when I watch these shows, is that in the end there might be just one winner, but each participant has gone back with valuable lessons learnt and fun memories to cherish.

My sister and I screamed for joy when they announced Lee’s name. Here is the link to the video of the Last 5 mins of the Finale Show. Hope you enjoy it like I did:)

Weekends!!!

Its the end of another week:) Always a joy for all working professionals who lookout for those extra hours of sleep on a Saturday morning. This  week went by really fast compared to the last week of craziness at work coz of the admission process(plus 6 days working). I don't have much planned for this weekend but i am still looking forward to it. Just happy yo get out of the routine of getting up and going to work.

Will be spending the day with my parents tomorrow. Need to clean up the place as we just got the house painted. I am always surprised at the junk that gets collected over the years. things that you  usually don't need are kept for no reason( and trust  me there is no sentimental value either). Looking forward to getting rid of all the clutter. One person who won't be very happy, will be my mom. She loves to hoard and I love to un-hoard( i don't even know if that's a word;)

Anyways all in all I guess its gonna be a productive weekend.I just hope that I can catch up with my friends as we have been planning and planning and planning....But the plans never seem to be executed as we have not met up as yet..Oh well...

So all of y'all have a wonderful weekend!!! Ciao for now :)

Iron Man 2

The much awaited sequel Iron man 2 released last week. I remember seeing part one in 2008 and I  fell in love with the character of Tony Stark. Robert Downing Jr is a gifted actor. The credit for Iron man 2 definitely goes to him. The movie has a decent amount of action sequence and of course "the cars". There was a good storyline and I am glad they gave a background history of the Stark Industries.

The addition of  new characters, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke and Samuel L Jackson did justice to their roles. On the whole it was a decent movie worth your money and would recommend my friends to go watch it.

P.S. All those who did not wait till the credits, there is a scene at the end;)

Monday Blues.. Greens... Yellows...

Call it whichever color u like, but right now I don't feel that great... Maybe its the constant weather change that's affecting my sinuses, or  my urge to do something different. Right now that different could be as simple as just being at home and relaxing and not thinking about the Gas cylinder that needs to be replaced, or the water dispenser that gets empty really fast or even what different can I cook for breakfast apart from omelette and chapati (easy breakfast when you have to leave early for work:)

Its like I am on the go 24/7. I want to stop and smell the roses. But I have been so tired lately that I can barely smell anything when I am on my way back from work.It is definitely a different season right now for me. I am learning to be content in it too, coz life is not always gonna be chilled out and relaxed. Staying on your own does have its own share of responsibilities too (with the fun part of the freedom:) I am glad that I am getting a glimpse of how life will probably be if I do get married and have my own place to take care of.

This week looks busy too, with  mum's 60th Birthday, Mothers day on Sunday and of course the release of the much awaited Iron Man 2:) So learning to rejoice and give thanks to God for all the different seasons:)

P.S. Yup that's me up there..all bonkers;)

Wats up wid me..

Life has been pretty much the same the past few months. No major changes apart from moving out of home for a few months. It has been a good experience so far. Managing a home and taking care of the household responsibilities can be an adventure of its own. It has been fun. With the responsibility come the perks as well. One being, to have ur own space. Something that I have enjoyed is the late night movie times wid my girlfriends over. Just to sit down and talk random stuff, over a movie that we have probably watched over  a million times:).

Work has been pretty much the same. Its quite relaxed and chilled out. Workouts are goin better than ever. Achieved my target weight and I am pretty happy about it.( When you start eating your own cooked food, you kinda end up loosing weight;)

Something that has been on mind mind is swimming and i am planning to take up classes for the same. Ya ya I know what your thinking, " You don't know how to swim?" This is just one of the things in my list of " Stuff I don't know, and need to do something about it". One of the things that I have been learning is Photography, and I am loving it. Playing with your camera to capture moments and images give you a different joy:)

Well I know I have been all over in this post, but i thought before I start writing on a regular basis (something i am tryin to keep up to) I migtht as well give an update as to what is goin on in my life. Anyways till the next post Ciao!!!

My Temporary New Home

Its been a while that i have written...alright its almost a year and I am not too proud of the fact that I am not disciplined about updating my blog. A lot has happened in the past few months.. One of them being my sister and I housekeeping for a family. They needed to go to the states for a few months and wanted someone to take care of their place..So we very joyfully volunteered... Its good to have a place of your own..It teaches you to be responsible and wise..There are so many things to think about that you don't bother as much when your living with your parents..for Eg: are they extra snacks in the kitchen, just in case u get reeeeeally hungry and want to munch on something quick, or which is the drinking water tap??? These questions might not sound very relevant to an average person stayin with parents, but trust me when you start living on your own they do matter... Well everythin else seems to be working fine as of now so I am relaxed..All in all I am having a good time living with my sister, cooking, cleaning watchin movies and having fun!!!!!
