Movie Time!!!

Its been long since I’ve written a movie review… Two weeks back i saw Rock On… after a really long time got to watch a good hindi movie which has depth and standard… I am not the person who will spend my money on hindi movies.. but when I saw the trailer itself I knew it would be worth it…
This is Farhan Akhtar’s first movie as an actor and I must say he has a done a fairly good job…,
As the name suggests the movie revolves around rock music and the life of the people in a rock band. Here the characters are played by Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli. The movie goes back n forth into flashback and thus helps us understand why each person is in the place/job that they are right now… the friendship that is portrayed is very real and can be related to are day today lives… whether it be struggling to make ends meet, or ego clashes among friends and many other things…people who love music or who are in a band will be able to relate quite well with the movie.
The basic story of the movie is where 4 friends who love music are in a rock band. They win a competition where they get to release their own music album. A big argument takes place as there are some ego clashes and the band breaks up. They meet after 10 years and decide to put their past behind and fulfill their dream of being a rock band… The characters are portrayed really well thru Arjun Rampal and Farhan Akhtar. Purab definitely bought life into the movie and Luke had his own way of wooing the audience…
Something wat I enjoyed a lot in the movie was the live music.. no hero heroine singing in the gardens and extras dancing at the side… if there was music it was becoz there were instruments being played and there were people singing on stage… It was good to hear an Indian actor sing (Farhan Akhtar himself sang his own songs)… also the other actors took effort in learning the instruments, and how to handle them at least.. So that made them look professional.. Otherwise I remember the good old days where the hero is playin an electric guitar without the cord being attached to the plug, or even better where he will be moving his butter fingers all over the finger board, when the music being played is totally different…

M glad Hindi Movies are bringing up their standards, and making movies that have class and will stir the mind of the people… hopin there will bemore movies of such kind.. My rating for the moving is 4 stars(out of 5).
