Gym competitions and fun :)

Those who have been  reading my blog know that I love to exercise. After many many years my sister and I took part in the gym competition. It was soooo much fun :) The excitement, adrenaline, body aches, friends..all make a wonderful combination.

My team did not qualify post the initial rounds but my sister ended up in the finals and it was such a joy to be with her and the team. Even though they lost in the finals they put up a good fight. The other team might have been huge and muscular, but we were leading in each set of exercise. The tug of war was the deciding factor with ten points and that's where these guys lost.

But I loved their spirit and joy :) The way we were cheering and congratulating each other after the competition, nobody would have thought that we were the losing team. In the end I am glad we all had fun and of course  we made some new friends : )

Here are some pics from the day:)

All Fun and No Work..Made a lot of People Happy :)

Yesterday was a fun day at work. As the the office was gonna be closed on Mon & Tue on the occasion of Diwali, we celebrated the festival at work. Our office was decorated and the atmosphere was brighter than ever as everyone was dressed in traditional attire.

It obviously goes without saying that nobody was in the mood to work. People we busy taking pictures, having fun conversations and unusually lengthy coffee breaks;)

Everyone went out for lunch. For once it was good to see people not working :) So here are some clicks from the day :)

Pwetty girls!!! :)

This is kinda my favorite :D

Happy after some good Italian lunch;)

I love surprises...and this one made my day :)

So the other day I come back to work after my 2 day training.. I was a little low as my good friend was gonna leave the country and my best friend at work had just gone on a vacation( and I could not meet her,on her  last day at work coz I was in training :(. I came back to my desk trying to work joyfully on a Friday afternoon...

After going through my 60 odd unread emails, the security guy comes  to handover the mail. My eyes then fell on one inter-office envelope, that had my friend's name in the sender..I was like hmmmm... So I open it thinking there might have been some confidential office document that she wanted to give me. I opened the bigger envelope and found another small envelope that had my name on it.

For the next 5 mins there was a big smile on my face, and I thanked the Lord for good friends. She had written a sweet good bye note :)

Friends

Friends are hard to find... Good ones even harder... A very good friend of mine had come down from the States to visit all of us here.. The two months that I spent with her was a blessing.. Even though she is ten years younger than me we get along pretty well...We had late night movies, conversations over coffee and great times reliving old memories.. I love her family and have had a wonderful time with them. She just left a few days back and i miss her already. After spending time with her I realized that maintaining relationships is hard. Especially when the person is far off. You have to work at it, and the end result is always sweet. Thank you Emily for taking your precious time to come and visit us here. You were a huge blessing to a lot of people. I am sure people back home must be waiting to see you:) Take care and love ya loads!!!

Before u know it its the end of the month.. well m glad n not complaining… coz that always means your closer to getting ur pay… its Friday and the end of the working week, which always makes me happy.. but this time m happier as m goin for a picnic (if I shud put it that way) with my office colleagues… m hopin to have a good time and just enjoy myself.. its been a really long time that I have gone out.. and this is the first time I am goin out with my office friends… planning to go to lonavala, and then to Lohagad and then stop for lunch at a resort… this is surely gonna be a stress buster( not like I am stressed out or anything) coz work has always been relaxed for me(have been blessed with that) but m welcome to any change from my routine life…

Last weekend was fun too… went for this long drive with my friend in her car.. it was like 4 girls in a car havin a good time… who says u need guys to have fun…played some great music in the car and that kept us going.. I enjoy these time with friends coz i know m not gonna get them back and I wanna make most of it now…u never know if u will get these wonderful days of singleness again(now m getting all senti haha).. but wat m tryin to say that I had a good time…

Where are the smart guys???

This is one question I’ve been asking my sister for quite some time now… Well if you are living in India then this definitely is a very important question to most of the girls here… As the tradition goes if ur around my age (ie 24) or anywhere close to that age then its the time for shaadi…(wat did u think I’d say, it’s the time to disco??? Hee hee) and it really bothers me coz m not against marriage or anything… but if m gonna be spending the rest of my life with a guy, he better be a sensible one… my parents have come a long way and have stopped bugging my sis and I to get married… and they are pretty cool about us getting married to guys of are own choice… now many of you must be thinking, wow that’s so cool… “guys of ur own choice, no pressure to get married soon”… but it ain't all that simple… Let me explain why:

For me there are 3 categories in guys: 1) The good lookin ones 2) the Intelligent ones 3) The Intelligent and good lookin ones (the third category being very rare)… as a teenager I was always attracted to category No 1. Then realized they are the dumb kind and can talk of only how big their biceps are (and thus reveal how small their IQ is)… and they are the worst in the category. You cannot strike a conversation with them.
Category no 2. are the ones who believe that as long as you are extremely intelligent that’s more than enough. You don’t need to take care of your looks, or social skills( basically anything apart from books or work) these are the prideful ones who think no end of themselves, and consider everyone else inferior…

Well now we come to my favourite and the rare kind, category no 3. These are the ones who are totally chilled out about everythin… they are intelligent, yet they don’t boast about it… have generally good social skills… they are extremely comfortable with the opposite sex.. and they look decent enough to the eyes… m glad that I have a few friends of the category no3… and it’s a blessing to be around them…I have always had great conversations over coffee, good time spend together in groups and great fun in general. They are the ones who are not insecure of their friendships… and that's good… it’s a tragedy though that the society is filled with more of the category no 1& 2… the 3rd kind are usually your good friends.. or they are already taken

Good Old Friends...

Yesterday I met up wid some good friends of mine… we used to work together and that’s how the friendships developed… we all know each other now for 3 yrs…and so many things have changed since then… we all were studying at that point, trying to just get our education done with…and now all of us our working…really busy… managing barely to keep in touch… it was so good to just talk…we could have gone all night… all of us have gone thru so many life changing situations in the past few years that we all have mellowed down a lot.. be it relationships or career.. it has taught us to be a lot more sympathetic towards one another… the best part of my friends is that they are into fitness….so we had some really good conversations on six packs and workouts and protein shakes…ha ha.. but all in all it was a fun time… was really motivated to workout better and focus more on my diet and exercise…thanks to my friend Amit (personal trainer in Gold’s Gym), after seeing his disciplined lifestyle(his well developed body) and passion for working out, was really encouraged to keep pressing on as regards exercise…
