A Lil Bit of Perspective...

I take the public transport to work.Usually its a bus or a sharing rickshaw ( what ever comes first). They are the cheapest mode of transportation than taking a private rickshaw, which would cost you 3 times.

At that point I still was quite ungrateful for the sharing ricks and argued with them if when they would charge me 5-10 bucks more.

Couple of months back I had a surgery and could not take the bus to work and hence HAD to take the private rickshaws. This obviously cost me a bomb. My expenses on travel went from 50 bucks to 200 bucks a day. I had no choice as my health did not permit me to take the bus.

The fare for the rickshaws just got hiked yesterday, which increased my woes.. So today I thought, let me just wait and see if I can get the sharing rick, which I did. The guy was quite adamant and said "Madam it will be 25 rupees" I was thinking in my head ( Fella if you would even say 50 rupees I would have said yes, as it would still be less than the whopping 100 rupees I spend one way)... Its funny how a lil bit of perspective can change the way we look at things...

Wats up wid me..

Life has been pretty much the same the past few months. No major changes apart from moving out of home for a few months. It has been a good experience so far. Managing a home and taking care of the household responsibilities can be an adventure of its own. It has been fun. With the responsibility come the perks as well. One being, to have ur own space. Something that I have enjoyed is the late night movie times wid my girlfriends over. Just to sit down and talk random stuff, over a movie that we have probably watched over  a million times:).

Work has been pretty much the same. Its quite relaxed and chilled out. Workouts are goin better than ever. Achieved my target weight and I am pretty happy about it.( When you start eating your own cooked food, you kinda end up loosing weight;)

Something that has been on mind mind is swimming and i am planning to take up classes for the same. Ya ya I know what your thinking, " You don't know how to swim?" This is just one of the things in my list of " Stuff I don't know, and need to do something about it". One of the things that I have been learning is Photography, and I am loving it. Playing with your camera to capture moments and images give you a different joy:)

Well I know I have been all over in this post, but i thought before I start writing on a regular basis (something i am tryin to keep up to) I migtht as well give an update as to what is goin on in my life. Anyways till the next post Ciao!!!

Different seasons..

There are days at work when u really don’t have anything substantial to do…I am going thru those days right now…the students are done with their exams and all have gone home…The faculty are enjoyin their much awaited vacation… everythin right now in college is in a slow mode…so that has kinda rubbed on me and as a result I don’t feel like doin anything… I have been so sleepy since morning that even now I can barely keep my eyes open to write this post.. (have already taken two short naps).. now the picture u guys must be havin of me must be that of a lazy slop who does not like to work and basically wants to relax at her job…

Well this is my first job where m not on my toes…the two other jobs I have had, I wud not have time sometimes to even have my lunch… I used to work as an administrator in a International school… there I’d be runnin from one floor to another… I enjoyed that coz that kept me on my toes.. loved being around kids.. and in a school u get to interact with all kind if age groups…from toddlers to the teenagers… My interaction here in MIT Design is mostly with older students basically of the UG and PG age group. Sometimes its nice to be around people of ur age…but I guess I had more fun in the school.. coz that kinda takes me back to my good old school days and wat we would do as teenagers… the crushes, exams, friendships, fights and a lot more…

As the job in the school was my first one I always wondered wat I wud take home after I leave that place…coz I was the youngest and the most inexperienced person… I remember being among the most qualified teachers…but that was an experience in itself… and I know there will be a lot to learn in the coming months too.. in one of my previous posts I had mentioned that I wud change my career line and go into fitness… its kinda takin shape now.. will probably do the course in the month of july.. will mostly still continue in my admin job for some time to save up some cash… coz the fitness industry does not pay that well unless ur well qualified… so will go slow with it… anyways that’s alli have to pen down today.. hope I havn’t bored u guys… did my best to write sumthin interesting…

Good Old Friends...

Yesterday I met up wid some good friends of mine… we used to work together and that’s how the friendships developed… we all know each other now for 3 yrs…and so many things have changed since then… we all were studying at that point, trying to just get our education done with…and now all of us our working…really busy… managing barely to keep in touch… it was so good to just talk…we could have gone all night… all of us have gone thru so many life changing situations in the past few years that we all have mellowed down a lot.. be it relationships or career.. it has taught us to be a lot more sympathetic towards one another… the best part of my friends is that they are into fitness….so we had some really good conversations on six packs and workouts and protein shakes…ha ha.. but all in all it was a fun time… was really motivated to workout better and focus more on my diet and exercise…thanks to my friend Amit (personal trainer in Gold’s Gym), after seeing his disciplined lifestyle(his well developed body) and passion for working out, was really encouraged to keep pressing on as regards exercise…

The Gift Of Life..

Its funny when u think that a lot of important issues can come out of things we never expect…the reason m sayin this is coz I had gone for a movie (Iron Man) this weekend.. all of u who have watched this movie will definitely be in awe of the technology that is used…loved the scene when he puts on the suit for the first time…I still cant get it out of my head.. but sumthin else stayed in my mind for a long time.. Tony Stark(Robert Downey Jr) was such an intelligent man who had all the wealth in the world, who won countless number of awards, and could have any girl he wanted… but was never grateful about it..it took a big incident like him being kidnapped and to be thrown in a cave for three months, barely surviving, to realize that life is a blessing from God… he did not know for himself how brilliant he was, coz that was the only thing that saved him from his enemies.. sometimes only incidents like this can bring back perspective in our life.. I just hope I am not ungrateful to the people around me, my family, friends, my job… knowin that all this is a blessing from God..
