I AM ALIVE!!!

Oh well, I think its about time I wrote a post. A lot has transpired in the past couple of months. To start with, I got a new job:) And I must say after a really long time, I am enjoying what I do. The best part being, that I get to work with some really neat people. Apart from that, life in general has had its ups and down-well that's how it should be, otherwise we would all be pretty bored.

Apart from the new job and my new bicycle ( oh yeah I got myself one of those;) I got to attend Awake 2015 ( a youth conference). It was quite a spiritual nourishment to the soul. There were things I really needed to hear and I love how the Holy Spirit can bring conviction to your heart.

So in the midst of all the craziness and transition and change, the only day I got to write down this post is on my day off from work -thanks to the flu. But I thank God for these slow days, makes me appreciate the things I cannot do on normal ones:)

Have a good weekend all of you!!!

Good times over the Bad Ones

Its been a while  I have written a post. Past few days were quite busy at work and lot of other things took up my time. Even as I look back at the last ten days, they seemed quite intense. When I look back even further- weeks and months- it still was the same. Somehow I feel  that its been a little more on the morbid side. But I guess that's how life is. You can't have every single day where you sing happy songs and cruise along. Some days will be upbeat and some will be low key. Sometimes those days can even turn to months and even years.

But even in times like these I try to choose to remember the blessings. One of which would be a skype session I had with a very good friend, yesterday. I did not even realize how the hour went by. We had not spoken ( apart from emails) to each other for years. Yesterday just bought back a flood of good memories that cheered my soul. I praise God for such friends.I praise God for the great times of fun and fellowship I had with this family. And in the midst of all the low moments I am choosing to remember them :)

It Could Have Happened to Me..

There are quite a few times that my friend drops me home after work. Today was one of those days. Even though its supposed to be summer.. it rained today..you can call that global warming if you like.

So as we riding back home through the usual route, we came to a part where everyone was slowing down. We saw a few people throw mud on the road and could not figure out what exactly was going on. As we continued riding, suddenly the guy riding in front of us skid and fell on the side of the road.

It all happened so fast that we actually did not know what to do. As we stopped to the side, we realized that there was an oil spill on that entire stretch of road.Fortunately the guy had worn a helmet, so he was saved, he definitely was bruised pretty bad though. We later found out that there were four accidents on the same road at that time.

I felt God's protective hand over me today more than any other day. I think I take it for granted how many times I have been out and come back home safely. Even though I had a harrowing time getting back home because of the sudden downpour and my rickshaw breaking down due to the water logging- I reached home in one piece.

I praise God for his protection and will not take it for granted. Now to go and buy myself a helmet for all my future rides on  a bike :P

Learning to be Thankful:)

I have been blessed with a lot of good things. Its just that most of the time I lose sight of it. So just to remind myself for all the blessings God has showered on me, I thought I'd make a list. I know that this is not an exhaustive one, but I am hoping that by the time I finish writing this post I will have many reasons to be joyful :)

1.Salvation-That my sins are forgiven and I know Christ as my Saviour and Lord

2.My sister-Praising God for our friendship :)

3.The church- The fellowship with one another

4. Friends- For good times

5. A job-Ability to earn and serve others

6. Trials-Helps to grow in maturity

7. Home-A roof over my head

8. Faithful teachers of God's word

9. Biblical Christian Songs

10.Life- A gift from God

Thank you Note: To my Doc :)

There are a lot of things I am grateful for in my  life- big and small. One thing that I thank the Lord for, was being able to find a really good doctor in the neighborhood. Its been almost a year since I have been going to him.  He is a quiet man, who does not say much- but his medicines do the talking :)

I like going to him, coz he is also quite flexible. There were times where I physically could not go to him, and I could just call, tell him my symptoms and someone from home could  pick up the meds.

So the reason I am writing this post, because yesterday morning, I started coming down with the flu. Those who know me well also know that if not treated initially it goes into a full blown sinus infection. As I called the clinic to get an appointment, I was later informed that he is on leave for the next 3 days :(

I was in a lot of discomfort last evening ( those have experienced sinus infections will know ;). Will be visiting another doctor today and hoping that I can get better soon. Its sad though how ungrateful we human beings can be. Its only when things are taken away from us do we realize their importance. Sickness is one place where God reminds us of all those things :)
