	Mother Nature shines every season, but in summer, she really shows off. In the States, June kicks off a bounty of beautiful fruits and veggies. Farmer’s markets begin to burst with stone fruits, berries and melons, fresh-from-the garden cucumbers, zucchini and tomatoes. It’s a paradise for food lovers and a playground for both chefs and home cooks. When there’s so much amazing food in season, you don’t have to slave away in the kitchen to make an amazing meal. Grill some steaks and ears of corn and serve them with a simple salad of ripe tomatoes and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper. It can all come together in a snap, leaving you more time to relax with friends and family. June is also when we celebrate Father’s Day in the States. Australia doesn’t applaud dads until September. Now that I’m a dad, I guess I’ll get double the love each year! It almost seems fitting to toast my dad and stepdad with the Americans. They are both fantastic gardeners and love growing their own veggies. I’ll have to throw a garden party in their honor! At the end of the month, I’ll get a taste of Aussie winter when I fly to Sydney for the Good Food & Wine Show, June 28-30. I can’t wait to demonstrate some more dishes from my new cookbook What’s for Dinner? at the Celebrity Theatre and to taste all of the amazing food that will be there. Hope to see all you Aussies there!

One of Those Moments

So at 10:30 am I head to the cafeteria at work for my usual "tea break". In my mind I am thinking.."Eh... the routine.. wake up... get ready... get to work.. take a  break

at the same time everyday..yup I was having an ungrateful attitude.

I set my stuff on the table and took the high chair and sat down in front of the glass window.Then for a moment i just stopped and relished the view before me. There were thick clouds, rain pouring down...lots of greenery... and I am sharing this moment with some of my new, but good friends... This is not routine..It is a gift and i am grateful to God for these wonderful moments...

So am I back to blogging?

Its been a while since I have posted something on the blog...a year can be quite a while.I think a lot of other things came in (mostly unimportant) that kinda took away that time. So I decided to cut off myself from stuff that is irrelevant and do the things that are required.

Things have changed a lot since I last wrote. Changed my job, made new friends,had a surgery and many more things. Life is never the same every single day and I am glad it isn't :)

So I am gonna try and take the effort to write something regularly. I am not gonna make the commitment to post something everyday, coz I know practically it is not possible for me and then I don't want to feel guilty again if I slip up.

So keep watching this page for more :D

Random Musings....

So here I am at 11 pm in the night trying to figure out what I should write on my blog.Honestly I don't know either.

This past week was tough.Be it work, relationships with friends or even other people's trials. But in all this I see God give much grace to go though them. I love being around people and hanging out. And the more I get to know them, I realize that there are a lot of people out there who are hurting. Just because each one of us answers, " I am fine" when asked how they are doing does not mean that they are really doing ok.

We need to go beyond the superficial conversations that we have. Sometimes when we are talking to a friend we can gauge that something is up with that person. It takes much effort to have deeper, more meaningful relationships. Yes, that will mean setting apart some extra time, extra effort and ready to have your wallets lighter.

So even as we start a new week, lets look beyond ourselves and our own agendas....
